You may judge for yourself....
but I find it curious that my niece AGAIN this year (like all our previous OTHER beautiful Lokono-Arawak nieces from Region 4 all the years before) had a flawless performance (made no mistakes yet others who did make mistakes were selected over her), had tremendous crowd support for her acting portion (as you will see in the video), and yet no Region 4 Lokono-Arawak girl has ever won the Crown (and only once was 1 of our girls allowed to get 1st runner up, and that was the ONLY time we got into the top 5) ...and it is beginning to look very much like INSTITUTIONAL BIAS AGAINST OUR COMMUNITY
We tend to be the most OUTSPOKEN and politically fearless native community, we were the FIRST to create our own Tribal Flag even...rest not done so YET (just for example)....so I deeply suspect that the powers that be want to EVER see an Amerindian Queen who for ONCE would actually spend her year as Queen going around the country and region - on print, electronic and visual media - informing everyone that the National Laws of Guyana concerning Amerindian Rights are in fact BELOW the International standard that the United Nations and other International legal bodies (FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN GUYANA'S SUB-STANDARD & NOTORIOUSLY CORRUPT JUDICIAL SYSTEM) have stipulated for decades.
Again, I have no concrete proof, but the circumstantial evidence seems rather incriminating.
Here are some of her statements the public will never see if I did not share it here:
CASSIES STATEMENT ABOUT "Amerindian Rights to land":
"As the first human beings to inhabit Guyana, Amerindians - as indigenous peoples under International Laws and Conventions, have an inherent and undeniable right to the ownership of the lands and territories that they have traditionally inhabited or are still inhabiting.
Many non-indigenous people are unaware of the FULL extent of Amerindian rights to our own lands under International Law, and often mistakenly believe that it is only limited to the surface rights - as if we are mere animals in a wildlife sanctuary....this is completely false, we as Amerindians have FULL legal rights to the surface AND sub-surface rights on ALL of our lands and territories under International Law - which supersedes any National Law."
CASSIES STATEMENT ABOUT "Amerindian Women's Rights":
"The main Amerindian Social rights I would like to promote are women's rights - as a young educated woman and teacher myself. As women we have an equal right to a complete education, no Amerindian girl should EVER be expected or forced to drop out of school just to become someone's wife....and when WE do decide to marry AFTER we have educated ourselves, it is our right to only marry someone we love and choose ourselves; no-one has the right to choose our husbands for us.
Neither do our boyfriends or husbands have the right to physically or emotionally abuse us - or treat us as if we are their property, we are your EQUAL PARTNERS - not your servants or slaves.....and we have every right to be respected, and treated with love and not domination. "

CASSIE DOING HER TALENT PIECE TO ROARING CROWD SUPPORT:
CASSIE ANSWERING HER CLIMATE CHANGE QUESTION (from minute 5.21) :
So there you have it folks, once again BEAUTY AND BRAINS from the unconquerable Lokono-Arawaks of Pakuri Territory in Guyana...arguably THE most educated and developed indigenous community in Guyana - for which we are continuously victimised by those who feel threatened by native peoples who truly know their rights....Pakurians do not take bullshit from anyone - and so we shall remain forever!
For my part, as her uncle with UN connections, I shall see to it that Cassie gets into the Project Access Tribal Link Foundation Training Program for the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in 2019, so that her knowledge of International Laws and conventions concerning Indigenous Peoples will greatly increase, and her passion for indigenous rights can be harnessed most productively.
