YEAH - lets ALL try to be like them, we can be 'genuine imitations' of the introverted 'family' false concept.
This is a relatively new problem in the modern world in general….this ‘Nuclear family’ concept (which is a soulless ‘twin’ of the Industrial revolution) is a very powerful ‘negativity-unleashing’ force in the world, it indoctrinates a self-centred mentality of ‘me’ among the economic debt slaves that predominate in the world today – instead of the traditional ancient and common generally pre-existing worldwide – mentality of ‘we’.
At the UN sponsored Climate Change conference in Alaska a few years ago I was asked what I thought was the root cause of our current Global dilemma – and I said ‘the Nuclear Family concept’, most people did not get it, until I explained how a ‘businessman’ raised by a society infected with this mental cancer – that tells him repeatedly “it is YOUR life – you do what YOU want with it…don’t think about anyone else other than what pleases YOU’……and this is why such a ‘devotee’ will feel no guilt or remorse to live a life that shows no respect, concern or empathy for anyone or anything else in his/her drive for financial success…..he/she cares not if an entire tribe of indigenous people has to be moved or extirpated in order for his business to extract ‘natural resources’ (he sees the natural world around him only in terms of ‘commodities’ for his own enrichment), or whether human beings must eke out a living on the slave wages he pays them in his factories – so that people like him and his fellow shareholders (none of whom would lower themselves to EVER work so hard for so little), of if parts of the Earth are destroyed long term in the name of short term ‘profits’ ….as long as HIS wife and children live a comfortable life – he pats himself on the back (and often attends places of religious worship frequently) for being a ‘good’ husband & father…..his likewise miseducated society will even praise him and hold him up as a ‘pillar of society’ if his business is big enough…with people lining-up to kiss his ass (theoretically mostly, but even sometimes literally).
If we still lived with the ancient traditional family values that drew a circle around yourself that included your ENTIRE tribe and geographic territory & environment (at a minimum) – not just your tiny immediate family of spouse and kids – you would think before you act in a way that might cause problems for you, your spouse, your kids, your parents, your siblings, your nieces & nephews, your cousins, uncles, aunts, neighbors, society, countrymen, your immediate environment, regional environment, global environment etc…..and you would try to live in HARMONY not in AVARICE….nor would you do things that bring shame on your past, present & future relatives – or bring people (or substances) into your family/community that do not fit the ‘moral profile’ of your family/community – because you can foresee that this will only bring future strife and negative consequences.

As an indigenous person - we should have as our mantra to live by - this simple co-opted expression:

I try to live by this motto, I guess you could say it is 'holy' to me, let me not give any other examples than 1 of my very own, of what I have been able to do ON my own just by trying to live up to this every day.

EXAMPLE #1 - My people's 'olde Lokono-Arawak' language is heading for extinction, I deliberately use the 'Olde English' spelling for the word 'Olde' to stress the point - because the English language survives, but as 'Modern English'..'Olde English' spoken everywhere in Shakespeare's day (in which an 'e' was added at the end of many words - among other differences - is dead). You see, only the 50+ year old people in my tribe still speak 'Olde Lokono-Arawak' (as I describe it), and they are going to get older and older and die and take it with them.....the young generation is only fluent in English in Guyana (where 75% of the Lokono left on Earth live) - due to the fact that the Christian Missionaries and Colonial mis-education system - literally BEAT the language out of previous generations of the human 'bricks' they molded for the foundations and spiritual prison walls that built Colonial (and still build Neo-Colonial) society on the backs of native peoples everywhere....and the young English-speaking Lokono find learning to speak and write 'Olde' Lokono as tedious and cumbersome as the average monolingual English speaker finds learning Spanish to be.
So I created 'Modern Lokono-Arawak', ALL the parts of speech are preserved (and in fact ALL words that are of post-contact origin have been omitted - such as 'sapo' for 'soap' or 'aranso' for 'Orange' - which is a Mediterranean fruit our ancestors never knew before Columbus arrived), so it is more historically 'authentic' in one sense - though not in others - such as in syntax - obviously.
Just as to us who speak English as a first language - who find Spanish sentences to be backwards quite often....with examples like this for instance 'Pantalones largos' - meaning 'Long pants' but LITERALLY 'pantalones' = pants and 'largos' = long.....backwards when compared to English as I said before....well very often this is how 'olde' Lokono-Arawak is spoken.....yet when I speak sentences in the 'Modern Lokono-Arawak that I re-structured - to my mother and father-in-law (who are both FLUENT speakers of 'Olde Lokono-Arawak) - they have no problem whatsoever understanding me....for all the nouns and other parts of speech remain exactly the same...Hamaka is still Hammock, Nana is still Pineapple, Hachi is still pepper, Hadali is still the Sun, Korokali is still Thunder, Oni is still rain etc, etc. ONLY the syntax is changed.
I merely made sentences to run FORWARDS just as in the English language (which is the only language our young people in Guyana know perfectly today) - in order to make Lokono-Arawak easier to learn and speak, because as we all know - the youth are generally lazy in this technological age, if you make something too difficult for them - they lose interest.
Sure, you can be an armchair critic with no foresight and say I changed the language and it is no longer 'genuine' (but YOU do not speak 'Olde English' yourself - no-one does anymore, so is the 'Modern English' you and I speak so well a 'fake' language because it was modernized? Come on man - surely you are more intelligent than that) .....but if you have foresight (more than foreskin) you will see it from my point of view, what would be better? To just let the 'Olde Lokono-Arawak' go extinct? Because even when our youth were being PAID to learn it - they still dropped out in greater numbers than stuck with it...with the common complaint to me being 'Uncle Damon it is too hard to learn, too confusing'.

So I did what I had to do - to SAVE the language, and everyone who grew up being mono-lingual in English that has been exposed to my 'Modern Lokono-Arawak' - has found it to be very easy to learn to read and write (even my 'Olde Lokono-Arawak' fluent-speaking parents-in-law support what I am trying to do)......and 100 years from now, when I and my present day critics (who just can't admit that their problem with me is one of jealousy more than anything else) are all dead and gone, and the ONLY Lokono-Arawak you hear spoken is 'Modern Lokono-Arawak'...history WILL have already absolved me.

It will be sold beginning from the 9th day of the 9th month of this year to non-Lokono to subsidize it being provided for free for a Loko youth to learn, for every 1 copy sold to someone outside the tribe @ US$20 ea (worldwide postage included) - 1 copy will be printed for free presentation to an interested Lokono youth in Guyana.

Here are modern-day Scotsmen, proudly wearing their traditional tribal kilts on a ceremonially important occasion, because they also wear modern suit jackets and shoes - are they now 'fake' Scotsmen now in your limited mind?

I am weary of hearing people wallowing in a negativity that borders on racism....the kinds of things they say and believe are variously (as it concerns me):

"Your people are extinct aren't they?" (I dunno, we are kind-of talking to each other right now in the present - but just to be sure let me ask everyone else in the tribe if they are ghosts or not you jackass) , "your culture is lost and irretrievable" (a culture is only 'lost' when every person who belongs to it - has let it go and let it die, I am not the only one who maintains and restores our culture; and I have 'retrieved' many things that now flourish again), "Your people are not traditional anymore so they aren't 'real' " (Do Japanese soldiers still ride into battle dressed like Samurais? Do English soldiers fight wars in chain mail & suits of Armour? NO! Yet they are STILL 'real' you jackass...

Cultures are subject to constant change, they ramify and grow, defining and defending places in a contemporary world - depending on the times and circumstances in which they exist).....when you see an indigenous person wearing a watch and you think 'oh they are not authentic anymore' - YOU are exhibiting a kind of racism, you assume (and when you 'ASSUME' - you only make an 'ASS' out of 'U' and 'ME') - that everyone else must remain frozen in time...except your own people - who have changed by leaps and bounds - from living in caves in Europe to exiting a spacecraft and walking on the Moon......yet you do not consider your own people to be 'fake'....just technologically changed and adapted to the world THEY are changing around themselves and everyone else (whether 'everyone else' likes it or not!).

My last status post - just for the record:

Most people only see what has been lost and give in to the gnawing hunger of hopelessness.....but I only see what has been kept - and what can still be found and restored - and it feeds my soul with a daily feast of hope in abundance.

Surprising as it may be to most non-scientists and even to some scientists, Albert Einstein concluded in his later years that the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously. In 1952, in his book Relativity, in discussing Minkowski's Space World interpretation of his theory of relativity, Einstein writes:
Since there exists in this four dimensional structure [space-time] no longer any sections which represent "now" objectively, the concepts of happening and becoming are indeed not completely suspended, but yet complicated. It appears therefore more natural to think of physical reality as a four dimensional existence, instead of, as hitherto, the evolution of a three dimensional existence.
Einstein's belief in an undivided solid reality was clear to him, so much so that he completely rejected the separation we experience as the moment of now. He believed there is no true division between past and future, there is rather a single existence. His most descriptive testimony to this faith came when his lifelong friend Besso died. Einstein wrote a letter to Besso's family, saying that although Besso had preceded him in death it was of no consequence, "...for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, although a convincing one."

Last night, I had the most unusual experience in some time, and it has made a believer out of me as regards Einsteins theory above, I suspect he himself had a similar experience and that is what made him form such a radical theory, as to simply 'imagine' this possibility seems less likely, my own experience last night has made a believer out of me - as I viewed it as just a 'possibility' before - since I had no personal frame of reference - hitherto.

Here is a copy & paste of the FB message (with words that would identify him deleted) I sent my pal about my experience with his maternal grandmother (whom I never knew or saw before as she died way before I could even walk & talk):

"Hi bro, after I prayed and went to bed last night I had the strangest experience, it was as though I went back in time and I met your Granny (your mothers mum) in somewhere that resembled Strathclyde, she said she did not live to see you grow up, she was poor - compared to you today, but not 'dirt poor' as people say, she also had short hair that did not reach passed her shoulders and she was a lil darker in skin complexion than your mum, I told her that you will grow into a fine young man and gentleman, and that you will own a business called '.....................' that your father created - and it is the biggest business of it's kind in Barbados...and she cried with joy......can you tell your mum this? I would like to know if any/all these facts are true, as this was a very strange experience for me to go BACK in time and meet a spirit (because obviously since that time to the present she would have seen you grow up herself from the other side) , it makes me wonder now about what Albert Einstein said - about 'time' not being linear...and that theoretically (he believed) we could go back and forward in time.....this 'dream' was certainly closer to these lines of theory than anything else I have ever experience bro."

My pal read this since 8.44am today but has not bothered to respond yet, maybe he did not get a chance to relay it to his mum, maybe he just does not believe anything like this is possible and just considered me to be a 'bit crazy' (anything is possible, I do not go through my life worrying about who listens and who laughs) - I just pass on what I feel is important info or what I am asked to relay - the recipients can appreciate or reject it - that is entirely their prerogative. But in my defence, many a deceased spirit has come to me and I ask why they do not go directly to their relatives - as I know most people seem not to have the joy I get from these encounters...and time and time again they tell me "because their relative/s do not believe that they still exist so their minds are closed to any contact/communication with them".....this puts me in an uncomfortable situation sometimes - passing on a message from someone's deceased mom or dad to to their still living son or daughter, and it is possible the people I pass these messages on to get offended..."Mum or Dad would come to ME directly - why the hell would she/he go to Damon?" (they probably say)....I don't know why, but I am only doing as your deceased loved one asked me to do.....perhaps because unlike most people alive today, I have a shrine in my bedroom dedicated to honoring the ancestors, and I pray every night before I go to sleep that I may be visited by non-negative spirits.....sometimes I specifically ask for deceased friends or relatives by name to visit me...but it rarely happens as I wish, mostly spirits I do not even know/never met visit instead....if their own relatives wanted to communicate with them or honored them in their homes - then perhaps they COULD go directly to them...but how can something appear to you when you tell yourself it does not exist? You have closed yourself off from a great unseen reality that surrounds us continuously - that still wants to be part of our physical lives.

Just for the record, I shared this experience with my family and my mother said she remembered the old lady I spoke of (my pals grandmother), and she was indeed less affluent and darker in complexion with short shoulder length hair and living in Strathclyde when my pal was a baby - and she died without seeing him grow up.
Obviously I went back and spoke with her spirit soon after her death nearly 40 years ago - not in what is our current 'present' period of time as to her - her grandson she was showing me was still a baby (I recognized his baby face as being my pal - as his face has not changed very much at all).
